In-App purchases still not working

After waiting a year for an update (okay, technically it was a year between updates, January to January, I joined the nightmare in I think March 2014), still no luck! Made extra frustrating by the fact that so many reviews report it working now! Maybe my being on an iPad 1 with a maximum OS of 5.1.1 has something to do with it, but in-app purchases elsewhere work just fine. I even bought the paid version to get around this mess, only to find that only unlocks some of the games, they still insist on having some in-app purchases, including the two Gauntlet games, probably the most high demand games in this package. Since there appears to be no change from before the latest update, Ill assume the stuff I tried last year is also the same. Trying to find any kind of app support failed, as if the department which came out with this game went under (evidently not, as they managed an update). In the end all I found was to file a report with Apple, who only refunded my money, making no effort to try to get it working. Last year, as this year, hitting Restore results in asking me for my AppleID password - understandable - followed by a message "Purchases successfully restored. Downloading now.", with an Okay button. Then... nothing. Whether or not I hit the Okay, nothing seems to happen. No download progress bar, not even if I browse around manually for it. Unfortunately for me, none of the reviews which report this working bother mentioning what happens, if they see some progress report, a bar, anything. I dont know what to look for, so I look everywhere, but the games in question remain non-functional, with an Unlock command button on it (which just brings me back to the store). The only change I can see is after I delete the app and reinstall, before the update I could try buying the expansions again, if I tried before trying Restore (if trying Restore first, it would discover I already bought these and wouldnt let me buy again). Now it figures out I own this stuff already BEFORE I try Restore, so that road of experimentation is now closed to me. Why the hell doesnt the paid version just include everything?!??!?

Excellent Versions of the Classics!

The version works great under the new iOS.

Im 13 years old again!

I downloaded midway arcade for free just to play defender and the code is PERFCT-every graphic and every sound! I used to play Joust and that was there as well! Bonus! I saw Wizard of War as an in app purchase with a couple of other games, so I bought them for a dollar. It is also PERFECT down to every sound. Even if you dont know all the other games and some of the things like air hockey and pool, they are great just for nostalgia. The only con is THE TOUCH SCREEN, I have to get a game controller because the touchscreen almost ruins it for me. If you hung out in dingy arcades in 1983, this app will bring you back to the day you took your first drag of an Export A... The same day you discovered your first pubic hair! Get it! "The Wizard of War... HaHaHa... Insert coin... HaHaHa"

Refund please

It kept crashing and then then exiting out of the app...

Mortal kombat

Can you put on mortal kombat? Its my favorite fighting game! That includes 1 2 and 3.

Meh

The graphics are great but it needs some improvements. Classic arcade vibe, but it would be better if the viewing options can be changed to a first person perspective. The controls are okay too. Please also include new games, like a claw machine. What classic arcade doesnt have one, right??? Since we paid for it we should at least get a decent amount of games and easy control. The jukebox was a great addition to but it should be included to the place and we should also be able to have a playlist in it.....

Midmay arcade

This game is very fun and offers tons of replay value I dont like how I payed for the game and I have to bye 6 games that I love

Midways greatest hits, one miss

WB are to be applauded for the sheer value in this collection, with a healthy number of classics at a very low price and tempting IAP packs instead of the obvious evil of freemium. Controls are also handled well, with virtual buttons as well as tilt for different titles, although virtual sticks are sometimes unresponsive. Less positive is the emulation here, which is smooth frame rate wise, but full of glitchy and broken sound. Likely update fodder. Still, this is a strong Game Room style app at a great price. Theres a huge library of midway stuff to be exploited (mortal kombat surely is not far away) and if they keep updating this, theyll keep money rolling in.

Controls need work.

A nice collection and well presented, but the virtual controls can be a bit hit and miss, hopefully theyll improve them with an update. Worse is the tilt controls, Spy Hunter is almost impossible to play, ABP fairs only a little better! That said , its a Nice nostalgia pack for (really) oldskool gamers like me!

Buy action pack

No game!!

This game is broken

I have purchased the "Fantasy game pack" IAP, it downloaded but never unlocked the games. Totally broken. Want refund.

nice app, but...

The app is great, possibly the best arcade simulator. But it is a paid version and nevertheless it spams alerts about other apps from the same developer and there is no way to turn it off and it does that about every 48 h and when new alert shows up, like appstore updatr it plays a sound like entering this app even on the turned off ipad and even in a middle of the night. my ipad is curremt ipad, ipad 4 ? , lost track of the names :)

The best collection of Arcades!

I love it!

Wow back to the...past!

Could be improved in the controls and the sound in Spy Hunter is sometime not working but what a blast!

Difficult and Nostalgic

Growing up with these types of games remind me of the pain and pleasure that is made by Midway.

Please fix this

We need more games. We need this re-released with controls that actually work well. Please Midway, this is a goldmine waiting to be harvested if we could get a iOS 9 supported game, with on screen controls improved, and the many missing Midway games we should be given with this, including: Arch Rivals, Area 51, Bubbles, Joust, Killer Instinct 1 & 2, Rampage World Tour, and Tron. All are titles Id easily pay for being able to play if it was offered.

Good

I love some of these classics. A couple of them arent very good. The controls are ok; a little difficult. I didnt like how spy hunter was controlled by tilting the phone.

80s Arcade Classics Right Here!

If you grew up "wasting" a good portion of your youth in arcades and pool halls as I did then you will really appreciate this collection. The ports are spot on but on screen controls will never compare with a joystick. The majority of negative reviews are from old heads who cannot adjust to the lack of a physical apparatus. Fiddle with the settings. Try motion controls on some games and see if that suits your fancy but dont dissuade others from trying this marvelous collection! The weakest game in the bunch is the 9 ball and I still enjoy it. It beats some of the more expensive 9 and 10 dollar ports hands down. Now if I could only get a good game of Robotron 2084.

Hell yeah!

I finally have spy Hunter on my phone!! Pool, roll ball and other classic arcade hits make this app a one stop shop for fun and entertainment. Keep up the good work and thanks!

Love it

Lot of fun games
