Midway Arcade App Reviews

This app is amazing! I would personally recommend it. I always play these games on the ion icade so I can get the full arcade experience. I just think that there should be more arcade classics. For instance, you could add a Nintendo game pack with games like Donkey Kong/ Jr., Mario Bros/ Super, and Popeye. Or a Konami game pack with Frogger, Scramble etc. Or just add more Williams/ Bally Midway games like Robotron. I hope that any one of these may come along in the next update.

This was garbage compared to what I was expecting! The controls were acceptable after spending ten minutes of my life in the settings. In spy hunter, you could use an extra weapon (smoke screen, two others) ONCE and youd lose it. SO unlike the arcade version. Most of the other reviews are LIES, LIES I TELL YOU LIES! THIS, is an honest review. I havent tried all the games yet, so some of them might be okay, but truly, this "arcade" collection is garbage. Dont waste your money. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!!! :D

Tough on a phone sized platform.

The games look and play great. But the controls dont work very well. The Spy hunter accelerator doesnt make you go fast enough. All of them have lag issues. Makes playing too frustrating.

Although the novelty led me to purchase the app, the controls are less than stellar. Not a game made for touch screen. Wish Id never paid for it. Dont waste your time or money. You should pay us to play. Refund!

I got this for 1 game and 1 game only! Why in the world would the high score board reset daily? That was one of the coolest thing about arcade games. Minus 1 star for that.

How do you get to play the claw machine?

Very faithful to the coin-op originals. In some cases, the controls are lacking, in other cases, the controls work surprisingly well.

Love this. For 99 cents you get way more. I got the games because I just wanted to hear the games again. Tears to your eyes

The developers should have improved and done more Q&A in the user interface and controls. You can tell someone in product management dropped the ball and released a incomplete product. The controls are terrible in ether the stand up position or the landscape position. I dont know what users they tested with - they must have had toddler fingers. Wake up developers.

The games are classics but impossible to control... not sure if a bluetooth controller would help but screen controls and motion sense controls are way too sensitive and inefficient to actually enjoy any of the games. The most fun Ive had with this whole arcade app was with skee-ball, if that tells you anything...

DO NOT GET THIS. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! I wish I would have listened to all of the honest reviews (theyre the one and two star ones. Anybody rating higher than that is either an idiot or a plant writing a fake review). But my longing for nostalgia made me ignore the bad reviews. So that makes me an idiot too. The controls are such useless garbage that it makes pretty much every game literally unplayable. And thats really, really sad because I thought this was going to be amazing. The ports seem pretty much dead on, but it doesnt matter how good the port is if you cant use the controls. Please, please, please Midway : re-release this so that its playable. Put just the tiniest bit of effort into the controls. Teasing old people with their memories and then making it unusable is just cruel.

However, I only put 4 stars because I just think that there should be more arcade classics. For instance, more Williams games(Robotron 2084, Joust 2: Survival of the Fittest,), games from Bally Midway(Burger Time, Galaga, Tron/Discs of Tron), and maybe even a few Nintendo games( Donkey Kong,/Donkey Kong Jr., Super Mario Bros etc.) I hope that these come along in the next update.

Its an OK collection of classic Midway Arcade Games, and it has a fair amount for 99 cents. Though it is missing some classics such as Mortal Kombat. Which is a Midway game.

I bought this game thinking u can use the claw machine so when I first saw u have to win it I was like ok a challenge then I unlocked it and CANT USE IT! But everything else is fun but Im mad

Hey, why not add friends and zombies, splode, and crane game to this app? That would make it a lot better. Also, there is a minor glitch in the pool table where the 8 ball just floats at some times making it unhitable and the fans dont spin in the arcade while the cardboard helicopter moves on its own. Otherwise, great game. Keep up the good work!
